“Until now you have not asked anything in my name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”

I love this promise that Jesus gave us.  I have proved it over and over to be true.  When I have put all of my effort into a situation and there is still no resolution, time and again I have turned to this promise.  Going to God the Father and asking for help in the name of His son, Jesus, and then thanking Him for the help that I know is on the way has proven time and again to be a winning solution.  He doesn’t always answer as fast as I want Him to or in the way that I expect, but I have found He always comes through for me.  In this same talk Jesus said, “I have ...

The Bible tells us that when God shows you your enemies and gives them over to you, then you must utterly “destroy them”.  (See Deuteronomy 7:1-2)  But I have found that it is important to realize that we cannot triumph over and destroy our spiritual enemies such as anger, bitterness, lack of self- control, gluttony, selfishness, bitterness, and many others all at the same time, or instantly. 

God deals with issues in our lives one at a time.  He plants in us the awareness of the need for change and the desire to change, (see Phil. 2:13) and then gives us the power to change.  However, God works in us as we allow Him to work at His own pace.  This requires patience on our part.  If you try to......
