AHA & AAP Course Descriptions
ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS, BLS are American Heart Association classes. NRP & APLS are American Academy of Pediatrics classes.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support* (ACLS) 2-day Provider class for all new and expired students.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support* (ACLS) 1-day recert class for all current card holders.
ACLS for the Experienced Provider (ACLS-EP) This 8 hour American Heart Association class is for seasoned ACLS providers who wish to renew their ACLS status. This is a discussion class that looks at up to 40 core cases and reviews toxicology, 12 lead EKG interpretation, electrolyte abnormalities, & cardiac arrest due to environmental & other special circumstances. This class meets the requirements for ACLS certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support* (PALS) 2-day Provider class for all new and expired students. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 1-day recert class for all current card holders. PALS is also, offered as a small group tutorial class (1-day). This class is open to all students: new, expired, & recert. However, class size is severely limited in order to allow all of the mandatory and optional PALS materials to be covered. This class fills up quickly!!
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider* (NRP) 1-day class. This class is offered in a small group tutorial style that covers all 9 modules. The written test is done online (keycode and access to the testing site is included in pricing). If you do not have access to an online computer you can make special arrangements to take the written test at the class. After successful completion of the test you must then complete the SKILL CHECK. Both parts are required for successful completion of the class.
Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) APLS is an exciting curriculum designed to present the information physicians need to assess and care for critically ill and injured children during the first few hours in the emergency department or office-based setting.Our medical director Dr. Tom Sherwyn is internationally renowned for his APLS classes. This course will be offerred several times each year. Please call for dates and locations 800-773-8895.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be added to any of above classes on the same day for an extra fee*. BLS* may also, be taken as a stand alone class.
BLS Online allows you to do the course work and testing online and then attend a skill check to demonstrate your skills. This is the only Online BLS that will receive an American Heart Association card upon completion. You may attend any of our scheduled classes to do your skill check (must call to schedule prior to class) or for EMERGENCY needs we can schedule a private check off for an additional fee.
ACLS E-learning. This is the only ACLS class done on your computer that will receive an American Heart Association card upon completion. Course work and testing is done on your computer at your convenience. You must then come to one of our scheduled classes to do your skill check off or for an additional fee you can schedule a private skill check off to meet your needs.
*Cost varies per location. Books required for all classes and are not included in class cost. Proof of current certification will be required at all recertification classes or you will not be able to sign in for the class and will have to reschedule for a 2-day class; there is a $50 rescheduling fee for all rescheduled classes no matter what the reason for having to reschedule. Once you reschedule you must attend the class you are scheduled for or if you reschedule again there will be anothe r$50 fee assessed each time you reschedule. There is a $50 cancellation fee for cancellation for ANY reason. You may only cancel original classes, rescheduled classes are NOT eligible for cancellation at any time. Cancellation requires 30-day written notice for a refund and will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee. Do NOT book until you are sure of the dates you are available. We book the number of instructors and meeting room size based on the number of students booked for each class, so we incur costs whether you attend the class or not.
