Stroke is the nation's third-largest cause of death. Effective, timely treatment for acute stroke necessitates the education of all healthcare providers as well as the general public about prompt recognition and treatment for stroke.
We have three AHA courses on Stroke targeted for specific audiences. Please read the descriptions for each course and pick the one that is best for your level of knowledge, training, and experience.

3. Stroke Prehospital Care Online-for all EMS Personnel
This course is designed specifically for prehospital care providers.
This interactive online course was designed to increase pre-hospital care providers'
knowledge about the two types of stroke and demonstrate potential stroke-related complaints.
The Stroke Prehospital Care Online course is a self-paced, continuing education product that
teaches the pathophysiology and risk factors of stroke, as well as recognition, assessment, and
management of potential stroke. Through four interactive cases, participants are presented with
patients who have stroke-related complaints and are prompted to make prehospital management
decisions.
This course provides Continuing Education Accreditation for Emergency Medical Services
and is CECBEMS approved for 1.25 Advanced CEHs. Once the course is completed, the student can claim CEHs by going to the CME link on the
