Hope for the Journey 061522

A man who does what is right and good may have many troubles.  But the Lord takes him out of them all.   Ps. 34:19 NLT

The last two years have had many troubles for all of us.  Sickness, death, isolation, loss of jobs and income, loss of friendships, stress from chaos in our country and world, and much more.  I can tell you from experience that the promise above is real.  I have seen days where I couldn’t imagine surviving one more stressor and then I got hit with four more!  I have learned that my best survival technique is to ask God in my quiet time with Him first thing in the morning, to help me at the beginning of the day get done the most important things and to not worry about the rest.  Then when my day goes south and the enemy seems determined to make me lose my cool, all I have to do to find peace again, is stop and throw a prayer heavenward for help.  He always answers in the most amazing ways.  Not only do my problems get solved, but while I am waiting for the solutions, peace comes.  Then in God’s perfect time and God’s perfect way all of my problems get solved.  Note I  didn’t say in my time and way.  Almost always what I expect the answer will be is not how God works it out and certainly not in my time!  I always want instant answers and God seem to be a God of patience and deliberation.  But when I look back the answers always arrived on time and got the job done better than I had even imagined.

So dear friend, ask God for help every morning in organizing your day and then ask again when the troubles come for help in solving them.  I love this verse because it acknowledges that we are going to have troubles and it points us to the solution for all our troubles.

May God richly bless you today.
